Optimizing FANET Lifetime for 5G Softwarized Network Provisioning

Recently, Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANET) have been proposed to empower 5G networks support complex missions and provide ubiquitous connectivity heterogeneous devices. However, it is needed cope with the limited UAV capabilities (e.g., available energy supply engines computing elements, capabilities), as well need network application services foreseen in highly dynamic time varying ecosystems. This paper presents for first a comprehensive framework that integrates FANET network, aim of providing can be even chained each other. model sense takes into account physical constraints devices, features requirements traffic flows. For this framework, proposes mathematical optimization model, allowing Virtual Function (VF) placement chaining, aimed at minimizing consumption service unsatisfaction probabilities whole without employing heuristics solution problem. Two strategies named MLP WMP are introduced compared standard strategy NoShP. An extensive numerical analysis shows allow us catch dynamics reduce number virtual functions while decreasing power consumption, so increasing flight lifetime.
